First of all, PLEASE non-eq! NO LISTS tomorrow.....get up and get your toosh in line. Because I am - and I hope we all know that we have established that we will throw away the list!!!!!!
2nd-I'm just starting this now because I'm going to sign up and leave! Updates after it starts at 9:30 please? How fast are they moving? Any non-eq getting seen...etc etc!

1- noneqs can make lists if the want to. There's no union helping them with rules, so one person saying 'no lists anymore' isn't going to matter. I'm not talking about the ppl who sign up 10 'friends' but about how cold it is this early in the morning til about June. Ppl are bound to leave the line to go sit in a Starbucks to gather themselves, or go get ready for a while in the Pearl dressing rms. Because of all this & bc noneqs have no rules & no protection/help, an orderly and appropriate list has to be kept. It's the only thing to keep sanity. (Again this is in no way supporting the mass sign-ups).
2- re:North Shore. Why are noneqs even wasting their time going to these? They are having dpecial noneq auditions LATER and continue to have some calls as each show gets close (every year). Trying to get seen once is fine, but there is really no need for a mass of noneq congregating in freezing weather right now. North Shore loves hiring noneq so trust me, you'll get a real audition later.
If you are a proactiv actor, you would go to the theatre's website that you're auditioning for to find out everything beforehand.

The line is beginning to wrap through the room, and will probably have to snake out the door in a bit. Just ask where the end is! People have been very organized and helpful so far.

They've started calling a few EMC
Four EMC have been seen so far, a small equity alternate list has been started, and the creative team has said they want to see as many EMC and non-eqs as possible. In the room is Arianna Knapp (artistic director), Beth Vasta (associate producer), Bill Hanney (producer), and Chris McGovern (accompanist). The "brief song" thing has been changed to one 32 bar cut, or two contrasting 16. Hope that helps! Good luck!
QUESTION: Does anybody know WHERE the NSMT audition will be on Thurs the 24th? AEA site says Pearl 519. Back Stage says AEA. AEA site is often wrong. Any news would be appreciated.

Tom- YIKES they are right. Backstage and AEA have the 24th/25th reversed as to location.

Thanks mixitup! Someone who is there want to double-check with the monitor? We could all call AEA but figure just one person checking would be nice to not make them crazy.
1. The producers CANNOT limit your audition to 32 bars at an EPA. They can REQUEST a brief song, and they CAN cut you off after one minute. Let the monitors know this.
COST rules: (11) At an audition, each Equity performer shall have no less than two minutes to present
prepared material or, should the Producer so choose, read from material provided by the
Producer and made available in the waiting room at the audition.
2. AEA is closed today. Tuesday EPAs ARE at the Equity offices.
EMC over 26 check back at 2.
