So there's no accompanist for the Cape Playhouse EPA. How is this being allowed by the union?
What?!?! Please post what the resolution is! That's awful!
It's allowed. The director is playing. The rule is we must have piano accompaniment. We have that.
It seems that Evans Haile, the Producing Artistic Director is the accompanist today and he has casting authority. It's not the best situation but it is allowed. As long as there is someone with casting authority in the room, and there is an accompanist, AEA really can't do too much. It might be that he did hire someone who didn't show up.
Also FYI - he is extremely competent and able to pay attention and play extremely well, so it isn't as dire a situation as it sounds.
