• NAB - arriving early in the post-online signup world 01/12/2017  12:00am

    Hey all -

Been a while since I regularly went to EPAs, but 'tis the season, so I'm getting my ducks in a row. Now that the online signups are a thing, does anyone have anecdotal data about how things look early in the morning?

I can see it going a couple ways: either there are fewer people who show up early because they've already signed up (or because they're discouraged by the fact that many of the slots have already been snatched up online), or MORE people show up early because they know there are fewer remaining open slots throughout the day, thanks to online signups.

Or maybe it isn't really all that different. Can anyone speak to the new lay of the land? Thanks!

Last week I went to the Stages St Louis EPA without an online appointment. I arrived at AEA at 7:30ish which was about when I would arrive pre-online sign ups. I was about #40 on the combined AEA/EMC list on the 4th floor. It started at 9:30 and I got a 10:10 slot. All of the appointments were gone at about 9:15. All said and done I arrived when I usually would have and got a time slot maybe one group later than I normally would. Most of the people in front of me were EMC.

I've had the same question & appreciate the above answer!

What about other studios? I'm newly AEA and newly back in NYC next month. How early can one get into the Pearls? Or the others? Do they offer a pre-list like at the AEA building?

Just trying to see how early I'll have to go when I inevitably don't get an on-line sign-up ;-)

    Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
