'Priscilla Queen of the Desert,' Tour
Priscilla On Tour, LLC (prod.) is casting the SETA touring production of "Priscilla Queen of the Desert." Synopsis: "Based on the movie 'The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,' the musical tells the funny and moving story of three drag performers who set off from Sydney across the Australian desert in a battered old tour bus, christened Priscilla. The show contains over 20 classic pop and disco hits such as 'I Will Survive,' 'I Love the Nightlife,' and 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.'" Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, book; Simon Phillips, original dir.; Ross Coleman, original choreo.; Roberta Roberts, general mgr.; Telsey + Company/Craig Burns, casting.
Rehearsals begin Nov. 29, 2012 in NYC; tour opens Jan. 8, 2013 in Minneapolis, MN. Tour is scheduled to play three weeks in Los Angeles, CA (May-June 2013) and 11 weeks in Las Vegas, NV (June-Aug. 2013), among other major cities.
Seeking—Cynthia: female, 20s-30s, Asian (Note: Equity states "Actors of all ethnicities will be considered"), Bob's feisty Filipino wife, frustrated performer of obscure "stage tricks" which make her very popular at the local pub, spends her days as a housewife looking after Bob and his home. Needs a strong belt, comic chops, and dancing ability. Must have a great physique. Featured ensemble.
Equity principal auditions will be held Nov. 15 at Telsey + Company, 315 W. 43rd St., 10th fl., NYC.
Equity audition procedures not in effect, no equity monitor provided. Producer runs all aspects of the audition. Prepare 16 bars of a pop or disco song showing range. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but may not transpose. Bring pix & résumés, stapled together.
Pays: $855 min./wk. Equity SETA Tour Contract.
