• NAB-NETC Audition Application 01/28/2018  1:34pm

I recently decided to apply for the NETC auditions (in Natick MA in mid-March) - applications must be postmarked by February 1.
I was glad to find out you could complete your form online and print it out to send by US Mail (the only format NETC will accept). That is, until I tried to list my theatre credits. Their form allows you to use the space bar (no tabs) to move between columns for each entry. But when you get to the end of the entry (I have 20+) if you hit either "Enter" or the little down arrow at the end of the last column, your entry disappears, and can't be seen again.
NETC forbids applicants from having a resume in their packets. Everything must be included on the Official Application Form, or one will be rejected.
Anyone have any insight on how to fill in the !@#$%^*+= &c. form?

HAve you auditioned before? I scoured their website and couldn’t find much about what theaters are planning to attend this year. If you have, had this audition been fruitful and/or worth it?

I've never really had a positive experience with NETC.

StrawHat was marvelous straight out of college, and FALL SETC is always a very friendly environment.

If you've ever been to NETC's..you've met me before...as I've worked for them for a number of years.

Although our application may be antiquated...it provides the information we need to assign you the most appropriate audition slot you deserve.

It's not meant to hold every single theater credit you have. If you're putting in high school credits and maybe 1 college credit...you might not get an audition slot. Yet if you have a number of college credits and summerstock credits or other regional theater credits then that's what we want to know. This application is what goes into the binder we give the producers. We want it to look clean with bullet point information so the producers can scan it and decide in your 2 minute audition time if they want to call you back or not. They don't have time to read an essay of a resume. If you get a call back...thats when you give the producer your full resume/headshot. This application is a teaser...to help you get the callback and not get the job.

As for how we run auditions...the above comment is the first person that has said that Strawhats is run better than NETC's. But please, tell me what we could improve upon. I would love to hear the information.

Last year I auditioned on the last day of NETC which was a Monday. By that time a lot of the companies had left the conference. I had a friend who auditioned the first day and he was seen by many more companies. I was really frustrated because I had spent a lot of time and money to attend the audition and ended up not going this year because of my experience last year.

It’s called the bitching post so imma bitch: OP asked for help completing the online paperwork, and a member of the staff comes on and writes a few paragraphs without answering the question.

    I did answer the questions.
