Audition Update is moving. Click here to learn more.

Hello Everyone,

You’ve heard us talking about it all summer, and we’re finally ready to show you what we’ve been working on. I’m proud to announce that AuditionUpdate.com is moving to its new home on the Backstage Community.

What are the benefits of this new location? It’s anonymous, it's mobile-friendly, it’s easier to police spam content and fake accounts, and best of all, it has collapsed threads! In addition, our developer team will be able to make changes, fix bugs, and implement new features much faster and easier on this new platform.

You’ll notice there’s a banner across the top of the screen here advertising the new location. If you click through that link, it will bring you to the registration screen where you can create your account and automatically receive the “Veteran” flair for being an Audition Update user. Even if you already have a Backstage account, clicking through the link will grant you the flair automatically so everyone will know you’ve been here a while and know what you’re talking about.

We’ll be decommissioning this forum slowly over the coming weeks, so you should save any threads or details that you want to reference later at your earliest convenience.

We know this will really help to improve things here at Audition Update, and we want to thank you - the community - for being here with us through the whole process.

– The Backstage Community Team

  • NAB - Positive agent stories 08/07/2018  10:58pm

I read a lot of negative stories about agents. I would love to hear some positive stories about your agent. What wonderful things do they do for you that make you adore them? Why are they better than everyone else’s agents? What makes them special? Let’s overhwelm all the negativity with positive, inspiring stories.

Nothing too in-depth here but I started working with an agent after one of those session since last December and so far they have been extremely nice and helpful/professional. Great communication. Also getting me out there a good amount which is nice. It's also my first agent so I suppose I'm lucky to have dodged any "negative" ones as you and others have described.

I've been with my agents for 7 years, they are always open to suggestions, throw a great Christmas party and are lovely people. I changed my
"type" by losing 50 pounds and didn't book for 2 years and they never said a word, cannot tell you how rare that is. I just booked a decent regional theatre job and I was as happy for them as I was for myself.

The Price Group has had my back for years. They cry with me over missed opportunities, they celebrate with me when i do well at auditions and when i book. Lisa made it out to see my latest show which was super special. The whole team is fantastic. I love them!!!

I'll never forget the way-too-early wake up call from my motherly agent telling me, in a whispered voice, "You got it... you got it." She couldn't wait until business hours to tell me about my first production contract. Her underrated enthusiasm was actually just love of her job.

    Love.

These are fabulous to hear. Thanks! Can’t wait to hear more.

Love my commercial agents. Even if I haven't booked in a while, they still let me know how much they like working with me nearly every time we talk. They just say it! "We love working with you, something will come soon!" That is just nice to hear sometimes.
